Paramount Cap Manufacturing Co.
was founded in 1929 by William and Simon Rubenstein. In 1936, the
brothers moved their company from St. Louis to Bourbon, MO., where
corporate headquarters remain today.
Surviving and even growing throughout the Depression was no accident
for Paramount. William and Simon Rubenstein sewed, sold and shipped
their own caps. They made them with care and insisted on high quality
materials. As a result, they built an ever increasing base of satisfied
customers. With the second generation of Rubensteins in leadership,
Paramount became the largest manufacturer of headwear in America.
The Rubensteins pride in workmanship and attention to detail has
been passed along to hundreds of Paramount employees today.

Paramount has remained a family-owned
company. This continuing family involvement and the dedication of
its Missouri employees are key to the Paramount success story.
In 1990, Paramount Cap Manufacturing
Co. became Paramount Headwear, Inc. The name change was a reflection
of their dedication to bringing in new product and expanding their
capabilities to include straw hats and knits.
Throughout the 1990’s
Paramount expanded many different divisions of the company. Their
creative department more than doubled in size, allowing for more
creative development to be achieved in both headwear and apparel
design. In the late 90’s Paramount began offering full service
apparel and accessory lines. Custom embroidering and silk-screening
on all its apparel and accessories made Paramount a full service
premium and promotional products company. In the fall of 2001, Paramount
Headwear, Inc. became Paramount Apparel International, Inc.
