OUR
BEGINNINGS
Paramount Cap Manufacturing Co. was founded in
1929 by William Rubenstein and Simon Rubenstein. In 1936, the brothers
moved their company from St. Louis to Bourbon, MO., where corporate
headquarters remain today. During 1948, the first of eight satellite
plants was opened in Gerald, MO. |

Surviving and even
growing throughout the Depression was no accident for Paramount.
William and Simon Rubenstein sewed, sold and shipped their own caps.
They made them with care and insisted on high quality materials.
As a result, they built an ever increasing base of satisfied customers.
William Rubenstein's son, Norman Rubenstein, became president of
Paramount. With his leadership, Paramount became the largest manufacturer
of headwear in America. The Rubenstein's pride in workmanship and
attention to detail has been passed along to hundreds of Paramount
employees today. |
PARAMOUNT
CAP TO PARAMOUNT HEADWEAR
Paramount has remained a family-owned company.
In fact, three generations of the Rubenstein family are currently
active in management. This continuing family involvement is one
of the keys to the Paramount success story. Another key is the hard-working
Missouri employees who have helped Paramount grow for seventy years. |
| |
| In 1989, Paramount
acquired International Hat Co. of St. Louis. International was the
largest manufacturer of straw hats in the United States. To reflect
the addition of a complete hat line to an already extensive cap
line, Paramount Cap Mfg. Co. became Paramount Headwear, Inc. in
1990. |
HEADWEAR,
APPAREL, AND ACCESSORIES
In the late 1990's Paramount began offering full
service apparel and accessory lines. Custom embroidering and silk-screening
on all its apparel and accessories makes Paramount a full service
premium and promotional products company. |
